Bishop Mar Jose Porunnedom, Bishop, Diocese of Mananthavady and Patron of the Corporate Educational Agency, inaugurated the new school building of ALP School, Kaniyaram on 15 May 2025. The ceremony was presided over by Fr. Sijo Elakunnapuzha, Corporate Manager. The function was held with the esteemed presence of Fr. Sony Vazhakkatt, (Local Correspondent), Mrs. Beena K. M. (Head Mistress), teachers, non-teaching staff, students, parents, and other local cultural and political leaders.

 

Established in June 1949 with a single teacher, Gopalan Master, and 68 students, ALP School, Kaniyaram, has been a holy place of education for the last 76 years. Under the leadership of its first manager, Fr. George Kazhikkachil, the school has grown significantly, now boasting 141 students and nine dedicated teachers.

The newly constructed school building features modern infrastructure, including 12 Classrooms and is equipped with smart class facilities to enhance learning experiences and provide students with hands-on experience and access to resources. The new toilet and washing areas ensure that the students have a hygienic environment. 

 

The inauguration ceremony was combined with a farewell function honouring Mrs. Beena K.M., a teacher who has dedicated her career to the school. This occasion marked a celebration of service, new beginnings, and the school's commitment to academic excellence.

With the support of parents, locals, and alumni, ALP School, Kaniyaram, continues to strive for innovative ways to deliver quality education, fostering growth and development in the region.
