A memorial gate in honour of two late teachers, V.M. Jacob and P.T. Eliamma was inaugurated in St.Catherine's Higher Secondary School, Payyampally on 15 February, Saturday. The event coincided with the golden jubilee reunion of the 1975 SSLC batch.

The memorial gate was inaugurated by K.D. Philip Kudakachira, a retired teacher and the first headmaster of the UP School.  Fr. Sijo Elamkunnapuzha, the Corporate Manager, presided over the function.

The school expressed gratitude to Francis Thomas, who donated funds for the construction of the gate. The event also featured a reunion and Guru Vandanam (Teacher Worship) by the SSLC 1975 batch alumni.

The memorial gate serves as a poignant reminder of the dedication and service of the late teachers and will remain a lasting tribute to their memory.
